NOISE COMPLAINT

ONLY ON 91.7 FM ‘The Demon’

So tonight was pretty big for me. I did my first show on the radio. It’s called ‘Noise Complaint’ and it’s a late night metal music show. Like, really late. It started at 10 and ran for about 50 minutes.

My Song lineup was:

Fuel – Metallica

Toxicity – SOAD

Down With the Sickness (Clean) – Disturbed

Enter Sandman – Metallica

Metal Health (Bang Your Head) – Quiet Riot

Breaking the Law – Judas Priest

Bat Country – Avenged Sevenfold

Heartwork – Carcass

After every song I’d talk just a bit on some specifics about the song. Maybe a little about the band’s history and some bits about my personal history with the music itself.

I’m pretty sure My friend and I were the only people listening in since you can’t get the station outside of Natchitoches. But that’s fine. I recorded the whole thing and am splicing it up to post on Instagram: @NoiseComplaint.Radio

I’m also thinking about starting a podcast about art in cinema. Focusing in on things like Tim Burton’s Claymation, the history of paintings in the Star Wars series, ETC…

I am very excited to be on the radio. Fun fact, my grandfather was on the radio when he was a student at NSU just like me. I’m not sure what it was about since I can’t really ask him but I’m glad to be accidentally following in his footsteps. (Pictured on the left is my mother and my grandfather)

NSU is also where he met my grandmother. The science building had burned down and they met at the front door checking to see where their classes were in the other buildings. He walked her to her classes, and eventually they fell in love. (Pictured on the right is my mother and my grandfather)

There’s so much history with my family at NSU and I’m so happy to be a part of the inferno!

Being a member of the KNWD station is gonna be SO much fun, and I can’t wait to do a section on political punk rock and 80’s GLAM Rock.

Other than that, college has been a blast! This first month I’ve joined the Radio Station, been to my first football game as part of the band, and made new friends in my art classes! NSU is like my home now which is so crazy! After only a month it’s like I’ve lived here all my life. I love my school and I can’t wait for everything it offers to really come to fruition.

As always, Fork ‘Em Demons!
